BUSINESS TAXES
Revenue will automatically switch all tax and customs reporting and
payments to euro and the timetable for this is detailed in Revenue's
'Euro Changeover Guide' which is available on their website (www.revenue.ie)
or from your local Tax Office.
Information
Revenue have published a number of business guides, leaflets, fact-sheets
etc. Further information updates and leaflets/flyers will be issued
in advance of 1 January 2002. If you have any queries about your tax
affairs, please contact your local tax office.

CIE
- Cash transactions will be processed in Irish
pounds until the end of 2001
- From 1 January 2002 to 9 February 2002, Irish
currency will be accepted, as will euro. Change will be given in euro
at booking offices
- After 9 February 2002, only euro will be
accepted
- In order to help ensure that buses and trains
are not delayed because of the changeover, CIE requests customers
to:
- Buy commuter tickets or other special pre-paid
tickets well in advance
- Tender exact amount of fare, particularly
on buses and at DART stations
- Allow extra time to buy rail tickets, or
buy tickets in advance of travel
- Tender one currency only, in payment for
fares.
Information
Starting in September 2001, the CIE companies will conduct a public
awareness campaign to inform customers of the details of their changeover
arrangements. These details will also be available on the CIE suite
