ESB

ESB Bills

  • Bills issued up to the end of 2001 will be in Irish pounds, with the euro equivalent shown for bill totals
  • From 1 January 2002, ESB bills will be in euro, with the Irish pound equivalent shown for bill totals until April 2002.

ESB Bill Payment

  • ESB will accept Irish notes and coins as well as euro up to 9 February 2002, but change will be given only in euro
  • After 9 February 2002, cash payments must be only in euro
  • Electronic payments (e.g. direct debits, etc.) will be dealt with automatically by ESB/Banks.

Token Meters

  • Customers with token meters will be able to purchase 55 and 510 cards in 2002.

Information
ESB will send a leaflet to all customers with their bills in November/December giving information on ESB arrangements for the changeover.
