BORD GÁIS
Bord Gáis Bills
- Bills issued up to the end of 2001 will be
in Irish pounds, with the euro equivalent shown for bill totals
- From 1 January 2002, Bord Gáis bills will
be in euro, with the Irish pound equivalent shown for bill totals
in the period January/February 2002.
Bill Payment
- Bord Gáis will accept Irish notes and coins
as well as euro up to 9 February 2002, but change will be given only
in euro
- After 9 February 2002, cash payments must
be only in euro
- Customers using the prepaid GasCard system
should note that the minimum payment will be set at 510 from 1 January
2002
- Customers who pay their bills through the
post office should note that the minimum payment will be set at 510
from 1 January 2002.
Information
Bord Gáis will send a leaflet to all customers with their bills in November/December
giving information on Bord Gáis arrangements for the changeover.

TELECOM SECTOR
It is not feasible to include details for every
company now operating in the Irish telecommunications sector. The following
summarises the key features of household billing and payment arrangements
across the sector.
Bills
- Bills issued after 1 January 2002 will be
in euro instead of Irish pounds. Bills will contain a message to this
effect
- Any amounts brought forward from 2001 will
be shown in euro, having been converted at the conversion rate
- An Irish pound equivalent for the total amount
will be displayed on each bill for some months after 1 January 2002,
for customer information purposes.
Payment
- Payment in Irish notes and coins as well
as euro will be accepted up to 9 February 2002, but change will be
given only in euro
- After 9 February 2002, cash payments must
be only in euro
- Direct debit payments will automatically
be converted to euro from 1 January 2002.
