Vending Machines
In general it is expected that the operators
of coin payment machines will aim to have the bulk of their machines
converted to accept euro coins by the end of two weeks from e-day.
Parking Meters
From 1 January 2002, Dublin Corporation's 'Pay
& Display Machines' will accept Irish coins, euro coins and a mixture
of both. 'Pay & Display Machines' will continue to accept Irish coins
until 9 February 2002. Parking meters outside Dublin generally use the
same technology and should be capable of conversion in the same way.
Please contact your local authority for details.
Car Parks
It is envisaged that during the first week of
January 2002, two alternatives will operate in most major public car
parks in Ireland:
1. Pay machines will operate in euro, and Irish currency can be exchanged
for euro at cash offices on site
2. Pay machines will operate in Irish currency, and euro can be exchanged
for Irish currency at cash offices on site.
Within a matter of weeks it is planned to have
all pay machines converted to operate in euro and until 9 February 2002
cash offices will accept/exchange Irish pounds for euro.
Information
Notices at car parks and at the pay stations will clearly advise customers
as to the options available to them.

Cork airports will:
