ECONOMIC AND MONETARY UNION ACT, 1998 (CERTAIN PROVISIONS) (COMMENCEMENT) ORDER, 1998

I, Charlie McCreevy, Minister for Finance, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 1(2) of the Economic and Monetary Union Act, 1998 (No. 38 of 1998), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Economic and Monetary Union Act, 1998 (Certain Provisions) (Commencement) Order, 1998.
2. The 28th day of July, 1998, is hereby appointed as the day on which sections 5, 6(2), 11(1), 12, 13, 20, 23, 27, 28, and 29 of the Economic and Monetary Union Act, 1998 (No. 38 of 1998), shall come into operation.
