Convergence Report from the Central Bank of Ireland 

In addition to the European Commission and EMI convergence reports, the Minister for Finance, Mr Charlie McCreevy TD, considered that it would be important to have a report on Ireland's convergence from the Central Bank of Ireland. This report was published on 31 March 1998. It too concluded that Ireland met the four convergence criteria concerning Government budgetary position, price stability and interest and exchange rates. It also stated that membership of EMU offered Ireland the prospect of stable economic conditions, based on price stability.
